A Statement from Congressman Rubén Hinojosa on the Decision by the U.S. Postal Service to Keep the RGV-McAllen Mail Processing Center Open

Statement

Date: March 21, 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

"This is a tremendous victory for the more than 100 U.S. Postal employees who work at the RGV-McAllen Mail Processing Center and for the residents who live in Deep South Texas. Our local postal employees worked very hard to keep their facility in operation. I proudly joined them in their protest when the closing of the mail processing center became a possibility. I am very glad that the U.S. Postal Service recognizes that our region is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. We need the RGV-McAllen Mail Processing Center here and our local postal employees need their jobs. I congratulate our hard working and hard fighting U.S. Postal employees."
